Mrs. Janet Bragg, a Griffin, Georgia native, was the first black woman to receive her commercial pilot license. Mrs. Bragg was honored with a Proclamation by the City of Griffin Board of Commissioners.  The Proclamation read, "We do hereby proclaim and declare the twenty-ninth day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand and seventeen, in the City of Griffin, to be "Janet Harmon Waterford Bragg Day".
