Mrs. Janet Bragg, a Griffin, Georgia native, was the first black woman to receive her commercial pilot license. Mrs. Bragg was honored with a Proclamation by the City of Griffin Board of Commissioners.  The Proclamation read, "We do hereby proclaim and declare the twenty-ninth day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand and seventeen, in the City of Griffin, to be "Janet Harmon Waterford Bragg Day". This was brought into the light by UOA.
